The project “Theatre TRAILS: Theatre fosTeRing Adults' skills and IncLuSion” (2022-1-IT02-KA210-ADU-000084400) promoted the exchange of good practices in engaging, connecting and empowering adults, particularly with fewer opportunities and at risk of social exclusion, through theatre and performing arts. It activated disadvantaged/non-privileged social groups, whose representatives were encouraged and empowered to use theatre as a means to promote their specific issues and interests in front of the general public, making their members more visible and presenting them to society in a positive light.

Within 18 months (01/12/2022 - 01/06/2024) the three project partners from Italy (Associazione Culturale Smascherati! APS), Bulgaria (“Values, Virtues, Integrity” Foundation), and Ireland (Smashing Times International Centre for the Arts & Equality) implemented a series of activities including:

- Training of trainers held in Sofia, Bulgaria (26/04 - 01/05/2023) in which each partner presented its own theater-based know-how;

- Local theatrical activities in each partner country (November 2023 – February 2024) with specific target groups, including migrants, refugees, and asylum-seekers;

- Final international theatrical event in Perugia, Italy (April 1-6, 2024), in which selected participants in the local activities in each country got together and staged a memorable theater spectacle.

The project also created two notebooks about the project activities featuring each of the partner organizations, their achievements in the field of socially engaged theater, content and visuals from project events, feedback from participants, etc. that could be seen here and here.
